The Harmonics (Select Chorus)
The Ottoson Select Chorus started in 1995 as a way to offer a more challenging and rigorous choral practice for the experienced singer. The group is an audition group, open to grades 6-8. There are 26 members. In the past, the Select Chorus has performed at Massachusetts Music Educators Association All-State Festival.
The Harmonics meets on Tuesdays 3-3:45pm
The information meeting will be on 9/12/23 at 3pm in Room 102, auditions on 9/15/23 at 7:3am.
*All members of Harmonics are also required to be involved in Singing Bros or Bel Suono which meets on Friday mornings*
The select chorus director is Cori Smith.
Auditions
To audition for Select Chorus you also have to belong to one of the large ensembles (7th/8th grade chorus, band or orchestra). Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come to the audition!
Bel Suono (Treble chorus open to all)
Rehearsals are on Friday Mornings from 7:30-8:20am.
Students who would like to sing in extracurricular groups should be involved in band, orchestra, or chorus, or have a scheduling constraint that prevents them from participating in the curricular groups.

The Singing Bros (Boys Chorus)
The Boys Chorus started in 2010 to meet the growing needs for the male singers in middle school. It is an auditioned group with approximately 70 singers, open to grades 6-8. The Boys Chorus has earned four gold medal awards and one platinum medal award at Great East Festival. Rehearsals are every Friday from 7:15-7:55am. The Boys chorus will perform at two concerts and one festival this year. Members are required to be at all rehearsals and performances.

Dynamics (Show Choir)
Show Choir formed in 2015 as a way to offer a more challenging choral practice for the experienced singer and dancer. It is conducted by Mr. Smith and choreographed by Ms. Flynn. The group is an audition group, open to grades 6-8. There are 18 members. The Show Choir has earned a Platinum medal award at Great East Festival.
Dance rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 7:15-7:55am. Music rehearsals are on Thursdays from 7:15-7:55am. Show Choir will perform at two concerts and one festival this year. Members are required to be at all rehearsals and performances.
*Please note: Show Choir is part of the Ottoson AM/PM program. There is a small cost for being a member of this group.
